I just got this message that seems rather cryptic to me: "The draconic quylthulg changes!". This happened when a chaos hound breathed chaos. I noticed that there was a Q nearby before the breath, but I can not remember exactly where it was, and I could not see it afterwards. What would it change to? I have searched for this both on this forum and using google, but I haven't found anything useful. Can anyone shed some light on this?

That chaos breath polymorphed it into another monster, I guess.

Ok, thanks. I was not aware that chaos could polymorph monsters. The next time it happened there were fewer monsters around, and I noticed that a clear hound changed into a troll.

It would be neat if chaos breath could polymorph @ temporarily.

"Sweet, I'm a Great Crystal Drake!"
> The chaos hound breathes.
> You change.
"Crap, I'm a rot jelly!"

Since that would be too much work to implement, it can at least be used for a bit of flavour. When a chaos attack kills @, you get a death message that says something about you turning into a monster and joining Morgoth's forces ("You turn into a [random evil monster] and forever follow the one you vowed to slay..." or something pseudodramatic like that).

Generally, customizing death messages depending on the type of damage that kills you seems like a neat idea. :3

It doesn't happen very often because there's not a lot of chaos breathers around.

I think there should be more monsters with (weak) chaos attacks in the early to mid game - especially now that confusion breathers have been removed.
