A pretty darn easy game. Not due to this guy being a kobold, but mostly due to my ever-increasing skill, and also that i found not one, but TWO robes of permanence before DL30.
Obviously, lots of careful play, and i avoided every dangerous fight until CL42 AND with Mana Storm. I have reevalued Mana Storm and even with a ridiculous 34% fail rate, it's still the best way to deal with all the major uniques, mostly due to the fact that there is no resistance to it. Obviously my fail rate was down to 14% by the Morgoth fight.
Dug room, filled it with runes. As a matter of principle, i killed him with my Uber MoD of Uberness.
The only bit of luck i have had was not getting my STR drained before i could get a ring of STR. I also did find a ring of INT +5 which was fairly OOD, and it allowed me to swap from 2 rings of INT +2 & +3 to a +5 and one Escaping.
A early ESP drop also from .. uh .. Wormtongue? Or maye one of the orc uniques. pre-DL30.
I had 3 immunities for 95% of the game. Yeah well on second thought, maybe this *was* a lucky game. It's just that the luck was well distributed, but nothing will compare to my sadly-deceased first ever Kobold Mage who found a Kelek's before he could cast a single spell from it, and who spent the rest of the game nuking early uniques with Rend Soul.
