[4.0.5] Game crashes

Running Angband under Windows 10, On my priest, I'm currently at 1000' and while I have the level about halfway cleared, I've encountered a problem with the game repeatedly crashing as I move into the southwest quadrant of the level. I've attached my save file to this post. Up until now, the game has run pretty smoothly on my machine, no other crashes. For some reason, this level has caused a crash for me EVERY time I have attempted to enter that section of the map. Not sure what's causing it, but maybe someone who has more knowledge of these things can have a look at it.
EDIT:
To be more specific, crash occurs when I cast a spell in either of the two small rooms in the SW quadrant. As soon as I start to see the casting animation, the application crashes.
EDIT 2: disabling graphical tiles entirely means crash doesn't occur... seems to be related to the spell animations for ball or beam spells like wands/Orb of Draining/Call Light /etc.

I don't see the savefile - how did you attach it?

Dragget December 18, 2016 02:01

Sorry, oversight... forgot to click the final button in the popup window. D'oh. It's there now.

Nick December 18, 2016 04:23

OK, that's very odd. I have no problem with that savefile - I could cast Call Light or use the wand anywhere in the SW section with no trouble.

Which tiles are you using?

Dragget December 18, 2016 05:23

Using Shockbolt's tiles, "Enable nice graphics" is checked, Tile Multiplier is set to 2x1, not sure what other information might be relevant... In any event, after I disabled graphics, I cleared that level and recalled back to town, subsequently re-enabled graphics and no more crashes so far. I suppose it could be something weird with that level + my graphics settings... IDK.

OK, I tried exactly those settings and no problems. Seems like your game was in some kind of weird state, but I don't think we have a chance of diagnosing why now.

Thanks for the report though, it's always worth doing. Sometimes we pick up long-term bugs this way.

OK. I have one. reproducible.

In my inventory is a ring of open wounds.

It is cursed with the following two curses:
* anti-teleportation
* poison

When I read a remove curse scroll on it, and then hit down to select the second curse, the game crashes.

btw, there was also an earlier bug where it wasn't showing up as cursed at all. That was before I put it on and identified the poison curse.

Not 4.0.5, then :)

My guess is that you don't have the latest build (8811126), where I specifically fixed that bug - certainly I checked your savefile in it, and there was no problem. If you have 6a5df0b or earlier, though, the crash is expected.

Man, you updated your nightlies too quickly. LMAO.
