One of the settings in the interface options is "forgo bonus attacks on non-alert enemies" but as far as I can tell it's never very clearly explained exactly what a "bonus attack" is.

Yes, I can see that cursed items like "of blight" are still available under the enchantment menu, and the danger ability is still available on weapons of the Feanorians, but these are not available...

I don't think Sangband does quite what you want, since it does place restrictions on spellcasting. When you first learn magic, you have to choose a realm (sorcery, necromancy, holy or nature magic)...

I like Sangband because I prefer the skill system to the fixed character classes that most of the other variants have. But since I discovered Dungeon Crawl I haven't really been playing it.
