There has been quite a lot of chat on this forum about how having super-smart monsters a la 4GAI is maybe not actually the best thing for gameplay. If you search for AI related threads I'm sure...

Angband uses the WELL1024a RNG. It is generally considered a pretty decent non-secure PRNG based on what I've read online, though admittedly I'm barely even an amateur when it comes to RNGs.

The Windows frontend really very rarely needs any changes, it's pretty much been the same for at least 15 years. I'd advise keeping it rather than making people play a much less functional curses...

As far as I know no-one's used the Windows Linux Subsystem before to compile Angband. There is already a cross-complation makefile - Makefile.win with CROSS=yes. You need mingw tools though.

Ben wrote savefile convertors so you could import the 2.7.x series into 2.8 and probably up into 2.9.3. They would be a good place to start.

rephial.org itself has quite a detailed history...

See https://github.com/angband/angband/blob/master/lib/help/attack.txt#L171 Yes, slow monster works on most things. But it only reduces speed by 2, rather than 10.

Yes, it's very outdated. I keep it up as a historical artifact, since like you say, it's full of interesting info. It's hosted on the same site as rephial.org. Nothing has really replaced it in...

I don't think there's any concept of commands 'stacking' in Angband like you say. Angband gets told by its frontend, which gets told by the OS, that a key got pressed. Angband does an instruction,...

It sounds like you might need to install the packages libncursesw5-dev and libx11-dev so that the game can compile. Try installing them with apt-get and then running configure again.
