I'm currently trying my first shot at a kobold mage. Might be a bit of a challenge combination, but so far doesn't seem too bad. A bit fragile, even for a mage.

Is it considered "correct" to have disconnected levels? I have one that isn't technically disconnected (maybe), but in practice it is because it's connected only by the permanent walls of a vault. I...

I don't think XP modifiers have value, because I don't think that's the right way to weight one race over another. I think they should all have the same XP progression, and they should each have...

Banisment damage caluclation?

Out of curiosity, for Banishment (and also Mass Banishment) is the player damage re-calculated for each monster?

In other words, is a separate 1d4 rolled for each monster removed, or is it simply ...

The last time I ran a mage was two or three nightlies ago at least, but it always worked correctly for me. I never tried giving it a direction though, I always picked a specific target.

This, definitely. Usually when I start now I'll buy a cloak, maybe a little extra food or an extra torch (not really that important), and spend everything else on CLW and phase door, which usually...

In this case it was definitely not the One Ring, just a randart artifact ring. It doesn't seem nearly powerful enough to be based on the One Ring, though I guess you never know. Aggravate was its...

Stacking buffs?

Does the priest spell Smite Evil stack with a weapon that already slays evil, or do you only get it once? Same for Demon Bane....?

Diving strategy?

I don't usually play fast diving games, but thought I might give it a try. How do you usually approach this? Stealth, avoid most creatures, carry as many escapes as you can hold, and hope to find...
