The other problem aside from rarity was that most of the D2 set items were pretty bad, with or without the set bonus effects. I think I only really used cleglaw's gloves (for ranged builds where the...

Angband has dialog when someone points at you and says "DIE!" before cackling evilly about traps :p

On a slightly more serious note, I can definitely understand projecting some sort of personality...

Yeah, that's the point I was doing a horrible job of making. The game doesn't really let you express any morality for @, so reading any morality into the game's treatment of @ is a bit of a reach.

Oh, is this something that comes up from one of those other side story sets? The only thing about Radagast in my version of The Silmarillion was that he gave some animal friends to Saruman. If he is...

Honestly, I think Huan and the ainur (which sounds like a cool name for a band, now that I say it like that, but I digress :p) being in Angband makes sense regardless of whether @ is "good" or...

Remove Radagast.
Change Saruman to an 'A', pretty much equivalent to Radagast. Maybe reflavor his description to refer to his time as Curufin instead to justify him not being evil.

Remove Huan....

The problem that I have with this is what is the criteria for what is important enough to be "dangerous" to miss? As it is now, everything is shown equally and left up to the player to prioritize. If...

I'm okay with the current color scheme of white if you don't have it and blue if you do (and green for special cases). Matching the resist colors with the monster memory would be okay, too, as long...

That was probably just bad luck. I had 2 or 3 bows of lothlorien drop, but they were all short bows with lower damage than the long bow of extra might. There was a randart bow that came close IIRC,...

Nethack was the game that turned me off from playing roguelikes for years. Combining esoteric trial'n'error gameplay with permadeath is a pretty horrible mixture. I'm no expert on it by any means,...

YAVP - Ranger...! *shakes fist*

I've had that happen too, because I took off my ring of free action to recharge a ring of digging while I was sorting through treasure in (what I thought was) a cleared vault. Unfortunately, I...

"Akallabeth" was surprisingly somber. Ar-Pharazon seems so bombastic and zealous in Angband, but the original character was just a weak man who succumbed to his fear of his own mortality. Sauron's...

I'd guess that it at least involves the axlotl tanks and Bene Gesserit muscle control.

Resistances don't stack, aside from temporary + permanent cutting fire/cold/acid/electric/poison damage to 1/9. Probably a good thing, because elemental immunity is a very strong attribute.

As I see it, "God Emperor" had two big things going against it:

1. Replacing Paul as the central figure of the plot with Leto. Paul was a much easier character to bond with, because he was still...
