BoL lets you ressurect one time. It lasts until that happens. If you suffer a stupid avoidable death that's a waste of it, but still better than wasting the whole character.

It wouldn't be so bad if the attack rods weren't jokes. It would level things a lot (as far as this change applies) if rods of fire/frost bolts/balls did worthwhile damage.
