You may have a point there, because I never melee Morgy. Maybe they're of use for a warrior who ends up going toe-to-toe, so perhaps my view is a bit mage specific.

I guess it means there's more use for money in the mid game, as I buy up all {unseen} consumable just to ID them.

I've never found the one ring. I've found Ringil twice though, which suggest that the one ring is pretty rare.

I think it might be a long and frustrating game if your aim is to find the one ring.
