I would suggest trying QtCreator or a similar IDE. Then you can Ctrl-click to "go through" any function/typedef/etc. you see.

(I mean Pete's method sort-of works, but it's incredibly cumbersome...

Hmm, that's interesting from a ToME2 perspective: In T2, this is purely a display option, but I suppose there have been a few tweaks in Angband since then that would necessitate actual code changes....
