Serephina, thanks for pulling attention back to that.

It's more plausible that polearms are systematically weak, but I'm still not sure. We did balance them by looking at numbers, and spears...

Thanks. I'm not sure we removed anything, but I'm willing to believe Starlight is the only one missing.

Do you know what distribution of game versions these cover? Relevant as we introduced new...

Thanks, this is very helpful data for balancing the generation probabilities. While there is some degree to which finding strong artefacts can increase the chance of a winner, I guess that this isn't...

Slaying has an internal counter which accumulates linearly with kills and decays exponentially. This is entirely independent of your Song (though it only accumulates when singing and I think decays...

If I wanted spells with different costs in a system like this I'd have a single threshold required to cast any spell, but have them drain you by different amounts below that level.

For instance,...

I'd wondered before about making bastard swords 2d5, but that would make three swords with the same damage numbers, and probably be confusing.

Removing bastard swords and making longswords...

This has certain advantages, but there are balance issues. In particular, it's favourable to characters with high Constitution. Since Con may already be the best stat, I'm reluctant to give it any...

In a similar vein, I'm also interested in knowing everyone's impressions towards chasms generally, now that they've had time to get used to them.

Do they feel:

- hazardous?
- useful?
