Ring of Slaying bonus only affects on melee weapons, not launcher ammo or thrown weapons/rocks. At least the ammo description gives exact same damage value, with or without the ring.

Chest traps are MUCH more important factor in the game than floor traps, because they are frequent source of ego/artifact gear....
