I'm pretty sure destructing a monster while shapechanged is bugged. When you kill a monster it reverts the monster race, this doesn't happen when you "delete" the monster.

Its also worth keeping in mind that ?dd is the 1st non-phase teleportation you find. It may not be instant but it does get you off a level pretty fast

So I tried a bit online & I dropped the delay factor from the default 40 down to 3. It's better, particularly when running down a corridor but I still get a fair bit of lag if I enter a large room...

I think its also a good idea to take extra care with possible deep descent scrolls (you can spot potentials by the stack size). Ironman priest doesn't have a lot of other solutions if you hit a kitty...

Macros are great. You get some unexpected prompt or spell failure & suddenly all the keypresses are 1 key out of sequence & you're randomly removing your armour and banishing all molds from the level.
