question about spell XP

when i cast a new spell for the first time, i get a random(?) amount of XP, that increases with the base level of the spell (?).

Q: is there anything else that affects the amount of XP i gain?...

i tried that approach and got him down to 4 stars but still died. some small beetle joined in the fun and was hitting me for a few hp each round and that helped ned my run.

1. Holy Avenger - 5d8 +18, DPS: 410

2. *Slay Evil* - 5d8 +15, DPS: 393

1. 300 damage from a rock fall is waaay too high
2. maybe, summon traps should summon mobs at 0 energy. it's not really cool to have...

tbh i'd be hapy that life loss scaled with damage, or that there were tiers of life loss. Losing 20k xp to a vampire bat is infuriating.

[bug] ignore uses energy

tested, the ignore command uses energy. Somehow i feel this shouldn't happen, as this is only visual? i.e. the item is still there, you are not breaking it or anything.
