I think them not being evil is part of the point. There are many slays and spells that works against evil which does not work against angels and I find it would be sad if we changed Angels to evil creatures.
I have absolutely no problem with a name change, in fact I agree thematically it is one of the least fitting parts in the game, but I think they should stay non-evil.
