underpowered mage vs. the trolls

:vanilla3.0.6: I wish I remembered to take a screen shot, I'll try to reconstruct it for you here.

I was a lvl 20 some odd high elf mage that was diving too deep try try to get a better roll on a scroll of acquirement that I managed to snag somehow. I stopped on this 'superb' level hoping for more loot, even if it was risky. I found myself surrounded by a mixed group of 2 types of hounds and teleported out. There they were, a full troll pit. Given that's what caused the level feeling you'd think I'd drop that level like a bad habbit. But I got to thinking... maybe.

omg the loot

So yeah I also had to get really lucky to find two staves of Dispel Evil and ?acquirement, but the only thing resembling loot this char as found so far was the phial and a defender sword. Other than that he was practically naked, so I figure I was due

Granted I've pulled that move with priests before, but never at such risk to my health or with such a good payoff. I've been playing this game for over ten years and it's still so much fun

Still finding new items too. Never saw a staff of holiness before. Plus, the char before this found an amulet of sustenance (when was that added?) soo good. I mourned his death greatly

Hehe, well done.

PS :
You might consider using CODE tags to reproduce Angband maps, it changes the font to one with a fixed size so that your picture is not messed up.
