Charging + Smite

In Sil-Q 1.4.2 I took both charging and smite along with song of challenge messing around with a dwarf. As you can see by my character dump I got owned lol.

When you charge an enemy you attack and you are free the next turn to do whatever action you want however with charging and smite when you charge an enemy you have to wait a turn as if you smote them. Is it intentional? I couldn't tell if the charge was doing extra damage because of the smite or not.
I think it would be an interesting character to have conditions on your movement making you either charge or stand fast and tank the extra hits but with a penalty after charging you get the worst of both worlds.

Charging with Smite hits for the maximum damage you would get with a charge attack. You should be able to see this from the combat rolls window. You are smiting them, generally for a lot of damage e.g. if you have 3d8 with a battle axe at 2 strength, you'll be hitting for 3d11 with the bonus strength assuming 5lb or more, giving with Smite a floor of 33 damage if the charge connects plus potentially criticals. And yes, every blow with Smite enabled will delay your recovery a turn.

You're not getting the worst of both worlds: your charge hits like a truck. If you want a more defensive option to pair with Smite it may be worth considering Knockback.

Ah I see, I did not have the combat roll window enabled sorry. Thank you for the reply, I will mess around a bit with knockback and see how I do.

I am contemplating a smite build & wondering how it works with concentration. Does the lost turn break it?

Yes, the lost turn breaks concentration. I'd be open to hearing arguments as to why it should be either way.
