Kukurin, Dwarf Paladin

Descend to dlvl 99. Find Sauron in the vault (??). Dig ASC nearby, and put glyph of warding at the end of it. Haste self, pray, break the wall of the vault, retreat into ASC. Watch Sauron dancing around while bashing him with MoD of Acid.

Sauron, the Sorcerer gestures fluidly.
Sauron, the Sorcerer casts plasma bolt.
Sauron, the Sorcerer magically summons greater undead! (Barrow Wights? Greater undead? Meh.)
You have slain Sauron, the Sorcerer.

That's it. The rune is still unbroken.

187 * 8 = 1500 damage/round. Overpowered randarts are so overpowered :-)

Which version? As of r20xx you shouldn't be able to get +3 blows on the Palantir - it shouldn't even be able to get +2 I think, only +1.

Yeah, I know about these latest changes. I haven't written down the exact revision (and afaik build system doesn't try to "export" revision in the code for later use), it's somewhere between r1990 and r2000.

I got your overpowered artifact right here. Since everyone posts the big finds I thought I should post this as the other end of the spectrum. Found lying on the floor at 600 ft by my dwarf paladin, clvl 14.

Superb - thanks for sharing. Some people argue that those are just a waste of an artifact, but others claim that they add flavour. While Camlost, Mormegil and co are in the standart set, they'll keep getting produced ...

And Morgoth went down almost as fast. 3 Runes, 1 *Healing* for one manastorm and 20 attack moves. All buffs I activated before the fight (haste, bless, heroism, berserk) were still active at the end of it. The complete log is below.

Thanks for the post. To those who are unaccustomed to keeping ?Rune of Protection for major battles, read this log carefully.

How on earth did you get 29 ?RoP scrolls?

If you look at his dump there are more weirdness in it. Potions of augmentation in home, 30 restore mana, 15 life, 19 *healing*.

Must be Ewerts rebalanced object rarities that did make the important consumables a bit too common.

With those consumables he would have won using unenchanted shovel as a main weapon. No need to have one of the best melee-weapons I have ever seen with combination of +3 blows Palantir, PDSM and The One Ring.

I've spent ~400K turns at dlvl99, cleaning vaults, dragon pits, graveyards and I have to admit occasionally abusing greater draconic and rotting Q's.

This is pre-r2000 binary, Ewert's changes made it to the trunk a bit later, IIRC.
I simply scummed *A LOT*, not for consumables, not even for victory, but for cool gear.

You forgot +3 shots heavy xbow which alone can do 1200+ damage vs evil with holy might :-)
