minor issues with 1.2.1

I noticed a couple of things in my recent game
(http://angband.oook.cz/ladder-show.php?id=15602)

1) The character killed Aldor, but that fact is not shown in the player log. I suspect this is because the entry for Aldor in monster.txt does not have the "F:UNIQUE" flag (?)

2) The character was killed on the ascent, but is still listed as a "winner" on the ladder. I assume this is because they did kill Morgoth (?), but it sorta seems like they failed in the stated goal of the game (i.e. escape with at least one Silmaril), and so probably shouldn't be called a winner.

I mentioned that several versions back, but was told that killing Morgoth supercedes bringing back Silmarils.

He's also missing the "MALE" flag, making monster recall describe him as "it".

Funny, my last semi-succesful attempt at a smithing character died to an Urarauko as well; found Celebrimbor, made a +4 Warhammer of Smithing, found the unique +7 forge, made a pair of boots of true speed and through speed and guile survived until I got my Con back from 1 (never noticed the -5 cost).

I then proceeded to die to a darting horror showing up from nowhere and hallucinating me whilst I was fighting a young red dragon and the aforementioned raukar, causing me to quaff a healing potion in base contact with the raukar (since I thought it was the dragon and figured it might breath if I attempted to move away).

Overconfident. Stupid. Dead. To make matters worse, I know full well I will never ever get quite that lucky as far as smithing starts go again, making me loath the prospect of attempting it again. I feel your pain =(.

Ps How the heck did you manage to take all those abilities earlygame and still survive until smithing gear kicked in? I usually cap it at jewelry early on and still feel underpowered until well after getting my smithing artifacts on.

I admit I don't really know; I certainly did spend a huge amount of exp on Smithing early on. I survived by starting with a high Dex (5), smithing two rings of accuracy +2, and taking Sprinting. This let me survive with only a very miserly allocation in Melee and Archery. I suspect that "being lucky" also played a large part.

Thanks for pointing out the two missing flags on Aldor. He is uncommon enough that it was hard to test.

5 dex and 2 acc rings at 100' and real con is 9 base melee, which is stronger than most edain would be at that point Not sure what your evasion was like.

Yes, when you kill Uldor there's a 10% chance he morphs into Aldor

Oh right, that reminds me of a related thing that I ran across which is that currently you can't generate certain monsters in debug mode (those with SPECIAL_GEN or FORCE_DEPTH - Aldor and barrow wights have the former, Carcharoth and nameless things have the latter). Presumably there are workarounds by just level-teleporting or forcing vaults to generate on 50' for testing purposes, but here's a fix too.
