Freeze on starting new game

I accidentally figured out how to consistently reproduce a freeze that I'd noticed a couple of times in the past: launch Sil, select load game, and attempt to load a save file that doesn't exist. Then select new game, and after entering a name for the new character and pressing enter, the game should freeze. Possibly notable is the fact that when doing this, age/height/weight will always show up as the minimum possible values (20/5'10/153 for Noldor), the random history is also always the same, and rerolling them does not result in any change.

I think I've also noticed when this happens, the character name isn't autopopulated either.
