Why is that? Is it because it is too expensive? What if it didn't have a pre-req? My aim with chasms wasn't to have everyone be able to cross them, but to have maybe 1 in 3 characters get leaping. It sounds like you are never getting it at the moment, despite believing that this is costing you artefacts and forges, so I'm interested in why.

Is Gancalf Gandalf's pet cow or does that name actually appear somewhere in the literature?

It's not in mine either, but neither is Thelos (Thalos is there), Vanamarwe & a bunch of other names I see if I tab through the names on start-up. Does it take names as a base & randomly edit them perhaps?

There is a cunning random name generator which analyses a list of words (in this case, names.txt) and then builds new ones by repeatedly choosing letters likely to follow the previous two.

Poor guy. Sitting there forlorn on a 100' pedestal of rock, then he sees a heavily armed and armored dwarf wielding a nasty looking longbow. No wonder he panicked.

I actually have a mattock of belegost. I have half a mind to tunnel him out from the east, just to see if he'd be my friend.

It was fortunate for that giant that Sil has no hunger clock for monsters!
