Well it must be something in the earthquake function because it happened with Morgoth's earthquake attacks and the explosion spell which uses the same funtion.

Okay, I found the problem. There's a missing parenthesis in a formula, easy to fix.
I'll release a quick update within the next couple days. I hereby give you permission to savescum for the purpose of picking up where you left off if you die from HP overflow, or you can just wait for the update. I may even get around to doing it this evening.

Hey, just want to mention that I just got the same behavior with Disinfectant (luck version) as with Bug Spray, now using 1.3.2. Crash to desktop, doesn't always happen when I cast it but often.

See attached savefile. When I cast Bug Spray (p b e) on the next turn, my game crashes to desktop.
I think I have been seeing this a few times, not sure if it was just bug spray.
I tried the savefile and cast bug spray on the first move and it didn't crash. weird. I look at it more later.

I found that my boomerang was quite effective against water snakes, fish-types and other native to water creatures (while in water). Seemed kind of odd. Maybe underwater attackers need some additional protections from certain ranged attacks. Meh.

There's also a problem with moving onto certain terrain types, open pits and water for sure. With EASY_ALTER on, you have to use the - key (alter grid) in order to move onto these spaces, else you get the "There is nothing to disarm there" message. Not sure if turning EASY_ALTER off helps or not.

Yeah, I wondered about monsters that don't leave water being too vulnerable to ranged attacks. Maybe I should make them go underwater (hide) again if you move away from the water, but then the player still knows there's a monster there.
Hmmm, I should probably have a status for the monster so the game knows whether it's underwater or not. Then I could make them much less vulnerable to range weapons while underwater.

Yeah, I noticed that when I opened one of your savefiles to check out a different bug. It's probably not to hard to fix, but I guess I forgot about it when I released 1.3.2(b) because I never use easy_alter. I'll fix it for next release. In the meantime, turning easy_alter off should make that not happen.

I found this as well; a workaround is to fireball the water to get rid of it. However, treasure dropping on immovable pits (disarmed but still open) is a problem. Telekenesis does the trick but can be a bit of a pain with big drops.

I ALWAYS forget to use telekinesis. There's no need to eliminate the water, you can use the - key followed by a direction, or turn off EASY_ALTER in the option menu.

I figured there must be something like that, thanks!

I'm working on fixing a few bugs now, but I can't get your savefile to crash. Here is the link to my current in-between-versions copy of DaJAngband. If you're around could you do me a favor and try loading your savefile and casting bug spray and see if it still crashes. It isn't crashing for me so I'm wondering if I already fixed it with another change.

PS: I fixed the easy_alter bug.

<will_asher casts bug spray on his variant>
