A perilous find: Cursed boots of Elvenkind!

Have a promising game going, V4.2 HE warriors, played entirely in portrait mode on my smallish android phone. It isn't easy. LOS monsters are a regular occurrence, and the monster list overlay is too small to read. I lost a mage to a mature MHD that I thought was a black: it had just been summoned and had yet to change color. It breathed poison: instakill.
I am sticking to warrior and Paladino, where instakills by unrecognized monsters are far less likely. Undetected--yes; unrecognized--no.

At 800', Ulfast dropped Forasgil, a big upgrade from a +4 dagger.
At 2000, I found Careth Asdraig in a vault, a nice upgrade after some stat pots.
At 2350', things started looking up with +2,+7 Elvenkind boots. But these are perilously cursed: paralysis, which isn't a problem, and anti-teleport, which is scary. I am relying on TO, nonetheless, and hoping to find *remove curse* before the end....
At 2400', this started looking much more likely, when Rohirrim was conjured forth by an unknown scroll, then Tom dropped ... the Trident of Wrath

At 500 dam vs evil, and +7 speed, there isn't much to concern me at this level. I *would* like to ditch the Ring of Free Action, tho.

you can take them off. not the best solution, but if you have enough detect, they could still be viable.

Interesting game you have there. Keep us updated. Does teleban mean you can't phase, too? I don't know if you ever do screen recordings of your games, but a super powerful @ with no phase/teleport ability would be interesting to watch. Android probably has a built in screen recording app. (iPhone does, anyway).

You can't phase. But you can still TO. It mostly means less softening up monsters with archery before going to melee. Since that post, I finally found gloves with FA, so I could swap in a CON ring for a little lost melee. I am still doing 490 dam vs evil, 600 poison brand, and 830 vs undead. Nevertheless, I didn't try meleeing a dracolich without rNether, at 565HP. But I did melee Itangast and Scatha, with minimal archery in advance.
And yes, I can teleport after using a turn to take the boots off. But that is a long way from a guaranteed escape. On the other hand, I could in principle melee sauron without rNexus. Blink dogs and nexus Qs can't affect me.

After one very close call, I *only* fight summoners in ASCs or otherwise constrained locations. Fundin summoned multiple summoners, and I barely made it out. Without phase, this is way too dangerous.

You can still use scroll of deep descent though that isn't instantaneous.

Yes, nexus Q and v are rendered helpless.

In any case, I have since found Stormwalker and an Elven cloak, so I gave up 3 stealth for lightning immunity and the ability to escape. Much, much safer, even with stealth falling from Excellent to Fair.
