Multiplayer Variants
What variants are out there that allow you to "team up" or form a party with friends and family?

Tiny brief info about online multiplayer roguelikes (all of them *bands):
MAngband, TomeNET, PWMAngband & Tangaria All this games are beautiful and unique; and all of them are in active development: https://mangband.org/ MAngband (1998) is where it all came from, it's based on early Angband, it's very atmospheric and oldschool because it's based at early version vanilla Angband. Gameplay video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-_g2hQPTTk https://www.tomenet.eu/ TomeNET (2001) got fast-paced gameplay with skill-based system, a lot of different modes and unique designs. Gameplay video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4lP2L_vHzc http://powerwyrm.monsite-orange.fr/ PWMAngband (2007) takes all modern vanilla Angband core mechanics, but also got it's own designs, like time bubble, which slow down time around player if he is severely injured, making game less reaction-based. Gameplay video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S59X8d5fkMM http://tangaria.com/ Tangaria (2019) based at PWMA; got strict fair-play (anti-cheating) and hand-made world based at it's own lore. Gameplay video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=povZE-FGTZY Source

Thanks, Tangar. I'm aware of these. Do people really form parties in them? Or is it just technically possible? I should have explained my goal more, which is to play a roguelike with kids over distance.

Yep, partying is fun; it's just me a bit sociofobic in my streams %) But for example, in my past stream in Russian, I've accidentally met a monk (I was an archer) in the dungeon and we continues adventures together:
https://youtu.be/evtW2Niw_Gc?t=4523 It's particular useful to go party at 30+lvls.. especially in Tangaria as it's got special progress curve which encourage players to play together.
