Playing vanilla 3.0.5

I got myself into a horrible spot. I do use backup savefiles (only had to use it twice so far)... I was wondering if anyone wants the challenge of getting me out of the problem... I'll attach my savefile here and if anyone can get me out of the situation, I would appreciate it, please post the resulting savefile here. Of course, this was the first level with an actual screen-size vault in it (lev 43) and I figured I'd clear the level before hitting the vault... Unfortunately, ran into about 8 gravity hounds and unknowingly saved my game before I realized that the blue big E unique was at the bottom left of the room, hence I was screwed by overwriting my last savefile.

Anyway, I am not sure if anyone would try... But can you see fi you get get out of this, and if you can, re-post the savefile?

Thanks!

If you're not worried about scoring, etc, then you can just use debug mode to teleport your character out of danger. I would not recommend using debug mode on characters you're actually seriously playing (it's intended to help developers test things and easily reproduce bugs), but I figure it isn't worse than asking someone else to get your savefile out of a jam for you.

I guess that I am hoping someone finds this a challenge. I tried this scenario about 20 times last night and was wondering if anyone had any more luck so I could learn something as well.

If I had to use debug mode, would that show up somewhere, or mess with the game at all? I have never used it before and never intended to. I always figured I could use Word of Recall and run away in the worst situation, but this one has me stuck.

I am into this more for entertainment value than realism (in a fantasy game, odd to say). And, my entertainment is absolutely 0 when my character is lost after "investing" days of time in him. However, I don't want anything necessarily to be flagged if I use debug mode. I may just go back to a 2 day old save, but lose a bunch of things... I don't think I found any decent artifacts recently, but I got up to 6 blows with my long sword artifact...

Thanks!

Well, if by "show up somewhere" you mean that the high score would not be saved, then you are right. Otherwise the game should be completely playable.

I'm not sure you'll be able to find someone to play your save for you--so maybe reverting to the 2 day old save is the way to go.

I'll post back when I revert back to the 2 day old savefile so no one wasted any time. I actually never check a "score", didn't even know that one existed. Hmmm... Thanks for the help!

I have reverted back to my old save. However, if anyone wanted a challenge, try to get out of the situation in my savefile...
