1. I'd like to have a terminal window that displays what is happening; I believe it is referred to as "messages". I found the "Subwindow Display Settings" but I cannot figure out how you enter the command to turn it on. Is there a command line someplace I'm not finding?
2. Where can I find a page that lists all the keyboard commands and what they do? I'm hoping for a simple table with just the command and result, rather than lengthy explanations ... something I can print out and refer to. I haven't played Angband in years and there have been some changes, plus I've just forgotten a lot of stuff; can anyone help me get up to speed? Thanks, Redactatrix |

1) What is your operation system? On Windows and Mac, you can open extra windows from the menu. On Linux, you have to pass some magic command line arguments, see angband -h for help.
2) Hit '?', there is a nice table in the help system somewhere. Or try this page: http://angband.oook.cz/d/angband-3.0...lp/playing.txt

Thank you for the keyset command list location, it's exactly what I was looking for!
I use a Mac, and I can open blank windows (Term-1, etc) but I don't know how to make them display anything ... just have a blank window, does not display anything. I found commands in the online user manual to change settings, like (always_pickup) and (use_sound) ... but again, where do you type them in? I can't seem to enter text into a terminal window. Mahalo for your assistance ... Redactatrix |

Ah, right. When in the game, hit '=' key, and then go to Windows screen. There you can set which Term shows what.

It wouldn't hurt ya' to take a peek inside the help folder, or press ? for in-game help.

Pav, thank you for your kindness. That was the one bit of information that was escaping me! Aloha from Hawaii to the Czech Republic.
. . Buzzkill ... I did, multiple times. I never found the bit about using the '=' key. Your sarcasm is inapproriate. Redactatrix |

Upon further review, my apologies. It wasn't meant to sarcastic. The advice was sincere, just poorly worded.
Ya know, they call me Buzzkill for a reason! The help system could certainly be more user-friendly, maybe even searchable. |

That's the plan for the next release - it will probably come with something like .pdf files that are nicer to read/search.
