Noob Questions
I'm new to the *band games though i played moria all the time...10 yrs ago.
I created a ranger. A couple questions: How fast should I dive? Should i bother IDing anything on the first 5-10 dungeon levels? when do i start finding cool weapons and eq? when do you start finding stat potions? I found a broken sword 1d2 of acid. is it worth enchanting or should i sell it? What makes a char worthy enough to submit to the ladder? I've always played a mage in moria. this is my first with a warrior type. Any general advice for me? Thanks |

> How fast should I dive?
as fast as you can, until you really know what you are doing. >Should i bother IDing anything on the first 5-10 dungeon levels? debatable: In V I read all scrolls, sell all potions and mushrooms, id all the rest (or store at home if I can't afford it) > when do i start finding cool weapons and eq? when you start finding vaults or much deeper if you avoid them > when do you start finding stat potions? don't remember; I don't survive that long > I found a broken sword 1d2 of acid. is it worth enchanting or should i sell it? brands do not make a big difference, but sell for a lot of money > What makes a char worthy enough to submit to the ladder? witty comments ![]() |

So well done; it looks like you've found a bug ![]() EDIT: It's already a noted bug in fact, and fixed in development. What you can do is find your pref file (in the lib\user folder if you're in windows, and titled (char name).prf) and add lines like V:1:0x02:0x03:0x04:0x05 where (from the modify colors screen) the 1 is the color number, 02 is the value of k, 03 is the value of r, 04 is the value of g, 05 is the value of b. Hope that makes sense.

wasn't the answer i was looking for but its nice to know that its not just me.
i just need to brighten up the dark colors. slate/umber/grays all come out black and the red and greens are very dull. Someday my company might buy me a new monitor but i cant exactly go to my boss and say"There's this game i've been playing on company time and the colors are very dark and hard to read. Can I order a new monitor?" oh well... |
