Maybe a message about damage from burning lava is appropriate if @ is not immune?
Yeah, thanks - I also need to check the player actually continues to take damage.

It's just based on power of breath, with some randomness.

Also, bolts never affect the floor, only balls and breaths.

Still some basic pathing issues. See the following. @ was on a RoP in a small anti-summoning closet fighting Gothmog. The balrog broke the RoP and created lava. @ phase doored out. Gothmog pursued into the vacated square, but is now "trapped" behind his own lava. @ is just outside in the corridor, but Gothie won't come out to find @ unless @ moves up into line of sight.

Why are mithril shod boots heavier than iron shod boots? Doesn't make any sense to me.

"Mithril! All folk desired it. It could be beaten like copper, and polished like glass; and the Dwarves could make of it a metal, light and yet harder than tempered steel. Its beauty was like to that of common silver, but the beauty of mithril did not tarnish or grow dim." - Gandalf the Grey explaining mithril to the Company while passing through Khazad-dûm.

Thanks, fixed in development now; also message on taking lava damage (and player does in fact take lava damage if they keep standing on it - I notice no-one reported that one).

Thanks, Nick. I was never sure if @ was taking lava damage or blow damage and tried not to stand around on it to find out.

New builds up on the nightlies page, with the following changes:
  • Healers now excluded from warrior pits
  • Devices no longer get the {tried} label from a failed use
  • Monsters with fire immunity can walk, and pathfind, through lava
  • Lava gives the player a message when it is damaging them
  • Lava actually damages the player every turn they're standing in it
  • The show_damage option shows damage for throwing
  • Artifact lanterns no longer claim to refill other lanterns
  • Saving and reloading no longer shows extra info about distant items
  • Inspecting un-wielded items no longer leaks info about unknown runes (like extra blows)

I've also attempted a fix for the bogus "roll beneath your feet" message, but I'm not sure if it will be successful as that is hard to reproduce.

No. Ordinary bog standard Wooden Torches. Happens pretty frequently. Although, weirdly, sometimes it doesn't, and I still can't figure out what's different about those particular torches. It might be that it's only dungeon-found ones rather than inherited/town-bought? (Though I'd swear I have had it happen with the torch I start the game with sometimes.)

I can't seem to reproduce it by just taking a town-bought torch into the dungeon and resting for 5000 turns, unfortunately.
