Inscriptions really need updating in the documentation - the !! command isn't anywhere and several of the others from that thangordrim page would be nice too.

Now look what you've started (Nick).

I've been thinking of a new mimic. The "Brain Slug", OK, so I stole it from Futurama.
It looks like an ordinary slime mold, as a matter of fact it description could read "It looks like an ordinary slime mold.". When a player (INT>13) tries to pick it up it clings to their head replacing (and possibly destroying) anything they were wearing and lowering their INT by 1, let's say every 1000 turns. If INT<13 the Brain Slug teleports away in search of more fertile prey. It remains on the players head until poisoning, stupidity, or remove curse kills it, at which point most of the INT is restored.

I've actually had some issues with =g. Pre 0.9, it worked fine, but I found it clashed with the "auto pickup items I already have" setting in 3.09 so removed it and found the setting had the same effect.

Thing is, with 3.1.0 (beta), I find the pickup behaviour of missile ammo buggy in general, sometimes not picking up despite the setting being on, sometimes wanting =g etc. Anyone else having similar problems?

It delibratly doesn't pick-up when your HP's are low, see this post http://angband.oook.cz/forum/showthread.php?t=1279 this and when running (also delibrate) are the only times I've noticed autopickup not working.

Ah, thank you - that explains it!

Swap macros / keymaps / inscriptions
I thought it would be nice to have a thread for everybody to share their favourite keymaps / macros / inscription tips.

For example if your rogue is using a sling you might inscribe your iron shots as
=g50!d@f1

You might have the following in your (username).prf file

# Macro '63'
A:\e\e\ef1*t
P:\[F1]

Trigger = [F1] key
Action = Clear command/message buffer then fire first item with @f1 at nearest target

This has to be a macro (not a keymap) because it uses the function key as a trigger. It needs to be set up by
Options (=)
Interact with macros (m)
Create a macro (d)
[F1] (trigger)
\e\e\ef1*t
Append macros to a file (b) so you can load it again later.

# Macro '64'
A:\e\e\ew2\s\s\sT
P:^T

Trigger = <ctrl>+T
Action = Clear command/message buffer, wield first item with @w2, clear message buffer, Tunnel

Used to automatically tunnel with a pickaxe/shovel not your primary weapon.

Inscribing your pickaxe with @w2^. will also stop you from running with it.

Yup. The idea is to (for example) stop you wandering around with a pickaxe as your weapon.
