Some questions on magic, armour and weapons
I had to poke a bit at the spoilers sadly but had a hard time finding some of the information.
So: I understand mages have a penalty to magic when wearing gloves/gauntlets. Does this apply to other classes too? Are there any weapon restrictions/limitations other than clerics getting a hit penalty with edged weapons? Other than the armour weight limit, are there any other concerns? i.e. as a mage can I wear any armour without penalty, as long as it totals under the weight limit? Thanks in advance! |

It does alert you. I forget exactly what the message is, but there is one, and your equipment will show "barely lifting" for your weapon entry, IIRC.

Using the [I]nspect command, or [l]ook if it's in a store's inventory, on a weapon will tell you if it's too heavy for you, among other useful things.

yeah, Inspect is hugely helpfull. The "damage per round" average is really nice. I wish Crawl had that.
