I happened to stumble upon this amazing game yesterday, so I joined this place.

I started the game as an Elf Ranger and browsed trough the various shops buying stuff I needed. (I couldn't find food or arrows though, where are they sold?) While jumping form shop to shop I was bugged by some farmer dude that kept speaking about his mushrooms. After getting robbed a few times, (How do you get rid of those thieves) I finished my shopping and entered the dungeon. I traveled along killing some monsters and found a stairs going downward, there I found the annoying farmers dog (At least that's what they called it) and it killed me.

So yeh, that's just me saying hello,

As with most problems in Angband, just as in real life, the solution to the thief, the farmer and his dog's is to kill them. If you can't kill them, then run away!!!

Buy some Scrolls of Phase Door and always have at least 1 Word of Recall, you won't regret it.

That's one thing I like about Angband, just kill everything, you might find a nice item dropped by the farmer!

Unlike Civilization, there is no "Win by Culture" method in this game. Unless your culture is killing everything.

Win by culture is for pansies anyways. Real civers win by conquering either the world or the stars.

Well, or that new domination victory that allmost allways crops up before you can finish a world conquest.
