Tis a thing of great beauty, HM.
I had to disarm all of the hundreds of traps because there were goodies under (on top of?) many of the traps, and as I didn't have a staff of object location I had to try and disarm them all. I suppose it was inevitable I'd fall through a trapdoor eventually! |

Been enjoying 1.4.1, playing in connected dungeon mode - thanks for the great variant.
One oddity or possible bug I've noticed is that the activations on randarts seem pretty poor. For example, I've just found the following powerful randart: The Broad Sword 'Slepnir' (4d5) (+20,+23) <+6, +5> Dropped by a Blue dragon in Tol-In-Gaurhoth Level 82. 6 constitution. 5 speed. It slays evil creatures, undead, giants and dragons. Branded with cold. Provides resistance to electricity(50%). Powers: Blessed by the gods. Slows your metabolism. Prevents paralysis. Cannot be harmed by acid, electricity, fire, cold. When activated, it reduces your charisma. Takes 880 turns to recharge at your current speed. Your chance of success is 95.5% I think this is the second randart I've found with this activation, so there may be something odd happening with the assignment of activations. In any event, wouldn't it be better to just give no activation rather than a negative one? It is not like they are hidden until used or anything. Regards, Jonathan |

Sorry but the character died shortly thereafter. An offscreen Tarasque cold breath immediately after the temporary resist cold wore off. Looks like 1000 HP and 40% permanent cold resist was living dangerously.
Oh well, next time. |
