Preserve Option?
I got to pretty deep levels a few times (a bit below 1000'), but I absolutely never found... let's say, the phial. Other's say that you are certain to get it sooner or later. So I thought, maybe it's because of the preserve option.
I have it set to "off", but I don't know if that activates or deactivates preserving... "Don't preserve artifacts when leaving a level :no" So, does it preserve artifacts now? Or do I just lack luck? |

"Don't preserve: no" means "preserve: yes", so you are playing with preserving artifacts.
I also played a long time without ever finding the phial. It is supposed to be an early artifact, but you never know what the RNG giveth.  Sometimes it shows up quite early, but sometimes it might show up on deeper levels. 1000' is not very deep in fact. |
