I know that the particular square on which one reads an Acquirement scroll doesn't matter, but I have maintained my superstitions and try to read them on the "8"s. It's hard not to be superstitious when just now my @ happened to see Nenya in a small vault on DL100. @ TO'd Morgoth and went after Galadriel's elven ring of power, thereafter, @ read ?Acquirement on the same square, and what should he find, The One Ring?!!!

What are the "8"s? Congrats on finding the One Ring from a scroll! No small feat, that.

I think it means the cells in vaults.txt where the most powerful items are placed.
