Recently I've added CHR to my variant and gave it plenty of features: https://tangaria.com/news/charisma-roguelike/
CHR is very special end-game stat – the only way to increase Charisma is to drink potions of Augmentation. Charisma now:
I know that in some variants CHR also used in interesting means.. Maybe we could make there a brainstorm and suggest more cool ideas about CHR stat?

Perhaps breaking it down by / organizing class would be beneficial, to ensure everyone gets some interesting benefit. That is, for example, what benefits does a rogue get from it? Priest? etc.
Further, perhaps you could do the same by race as well. Together, each race/class combo would have an interesting set of bonuses/effects they see from CHR. And, with care, you might even come up with some interesting new race/class combos that are not common in vanilla as a result: that is, you might as a result have some fun combos to play due from the racial benefit mixing creative ways with a class. |

I remember I tried to make Charisma matter more in DaJAngband, but I don't remember exactly what I did with it. IIRC, it affected device skill and effectiveness of sleep/slow/confuse/stun/charm effects.
I'm undecided whether I care enough about it to reintroduce charisma to my newer variant, Rubberband. Definitely not for the first release anyway.
