Comp 183

Comp 183 is up. You get to literally be Santa Claus.

GLHF -- and hail santa.

This is something. I am going to try this !!!

Edit:
I made the first Compo ladder attempt and it wasn't much of one. I recommend that all PosChengband players jump on the bandwagon and give this compo a shot! It's actually *a lot* of fun!!

Spoiler:
The Lazy personality also grants three special uber-powerful artifacts at the end game upon killing the Morgoth, the Unicorn, or Serpent

I'm not sure when and if the "stealing" melee behaviour changed, but it seems now that you'll only hit to teleport as long as you actually grab a drop from the target monster. This may get annoying on uniques. I played a test character up to CL20 (~2 hours) and I only had this happen maybe 5-10 times. It was generally more useful than not.

It appears as if you charge to steal even if you have a melee weapon equipped, but I haven't tried super hard to verify this. I thought you weren't supposed to get any extra attacks as a possessor if you're toting a melee weapon.

Also, I haven't played Lazy in a long time, but it appears as if they must be taking more damage on average than any of the other personalities. I'll peek into the code later, but this guy generally feels a lot more fragile than he should. Be careful!

Also, minor correction on Hugo'd artifact comment -- the lazy artifacts are dropped by the unicorn, Morgoth, and the Plain Gold Ring. Good luck with that

IIRC, the hit to teleport can still happen even if you don't successfully get the item. If this happens, the item gets dropped near the enemy monster.

Weapon wielding DOESN'T "disable" the innate Stealing mechanic, AFAIK. I confirmed this with a Santa runner-up.

I thnk Lazy personalities taking more damage is part of the Lazy package, if I'm not mistaken.

I assure you this wasn't intentional. Hopefully he's also a quest monster.

The compo 183 ladder unique counts are a bit buggy - #'s for December 26, 2015 entries are 0. And I know that my Santa 36 entry had 14 unique kills. My Santa 24 had 3 unique kills. hjklyubn's Santa had 9 unique kills. My first Santa had zero kills.

Thanks!
