Creating a char dump crashes the game

Playing 2.3.5, downloaded from Zaimoni´s site, on Windows and what the title says - attempting to make a char dump with C-f crashes the game and makes an empty file with the character´s name. I dont suppose anyone has an idea ?

This is a known bug in 2.3.5 that directly has to do with the number of Princess quests vs Lost Swords completed. You will have to keep track of the number of both types completed and supposedly once the number of Lost Swords completions exceeds the Princess quests, you'll be able to use the char dump command without crashing the game.

Thanks for the reply. I did remember reading about this problem before, but not the solution.

I assume it is the other way round: princess > lost sword. Indeed, I can now make a char dump (and princess quests are always way more numerous than lost swords, unless you have zero in both).

How many of both types did you complete (in 2.3.5) before you could make chardumps again? According to the ToMEwiki, you'd want more Lost Swords > Princess.

I wonder if AH's latest version (2.4.0-ah?) already fixed this bug?

It has to be princess>LS. The ratio is 4:1 IIRC so it would almost never be possible to do a character dump otherwise.

I have never run into this problem, but I never do a dump until after I have won.
