Thangorodrim

I just discovered a very interesting site called Thangorodrim.net. I find the explanations given, very systematic, thorough and very well explained, but saw that it dates back to 1999, so I presume, quite a bit might be outdated - or am I wrong?

Or is there a site similar to that one which is up to date with angband 4.1.0?

Yes, it's very outdated. I keep it up as a historical artifact, since like you say, it's full of interesting info. It's hosted on the same site as rephial.org. Nothing has really replaced it in terms of scope or description.

If you're reading The Angband Newbie Guide, don't believe its lies. Source: I wrote the damn thing. It's an artifact of the prevailing groupthink of the day, but even back then* there were plenty of other perfectly viable playstyles that wouldn't obey the rules it proclaims.

* Hell, especially back then. Fuzzy object detection makes a diving playstyle considerably harder, for example; back then Detect Object would happily tell you the type of object, for any class.

Hoo boy, yeah. There is something terrible advice on that page, notably starting with what to buy.
