Lightning

What does lightning do besides reducing AC?

Can it damage worn equipment or equipment carried?

Lightning shouldn't reduce AC; are you seeing that happen? Normally the effects of electricity are to destroy rings, wands, rods, and (IIRC) amulets that are not immune to the effects of electricity. As with other item destruction effects, the effect is guaranteed if the item is lying on the ground, and has a 1-3% chance of happening if the item is in your inventory, depending on how much damage you take.
