[S,O,FA and such] What is a 'light' weapon

How heavy does something have to be to qualify as heavy, and thus bad for use with sneaky characters?
I have an S hobbit burglar who has been stealing stuff from Bill Ferny, upon being caught going into the dungeon for a while and stealing his stuff again. This is a bit of an exploit, but that is not what my post is about.
He got a broadsword which is likely to be very good, and weighs 8 pounds. Is that too much? I have 20 burglary skill. Also, what is a light weapon in O or FA because i like those too. I have a hunch 8 pounds is too much, but could someone inform me if 2d5 +2 +4 is better or worse than 1d7 +5+4 when 2d5 is likely to be too heavy and thus - to skill, and 1d7 is most likely + to skill.

In FA (and O - I don't think I've changed it) all classes have a maximum comfortable weapon weight (10lb for rogues and assassins) at CL50, which is scaled down by level. Everyone loses some to-skill above that; rogues and assassins get a bonus to skill if they're below that.

For FA and O, it's all in the A: line in p_class.txt; I'm not sure about S.

EDIT: In fact, given S doesn't have classes as such, it will be different...

This is something I've often wondered in S - some weapons are pretty obviously light, while some others are obviously heavy, but where do things like broadswords, katanas and bluesteel blades fit in.

It's particularly relevant to burglars of course; I think it might be helpful if when you wielded a weapon for the first time you could get a message like 'you feel particularly adept with this light weapon,' or 'you feel particularly clumsy with this heavy weapon' though that might be too helpful for S.

Regardless, when I won with a burglar, I ended up using heavy weapons for most of the game because the lighter weapons just don't do enough damage.

At least in FA allmost any weapon is light, e.g. HE assassin got maximum bonus with lance. Grond is heavy for most characters.
It is probably bug if this

(10lb for rogues and assassins)
is intended.
Just tested it, no difference between dagger and lance for lvl 5 HE assassin, full +20 to hit bonus.
