Infravision boast post

We've all boasted about character's speed, or average damage/round...but infravision is an ability we rarely brag about. So let's do it.

My hobbit rogue (clv25) currently has 190ft infravision partly thanks to Dwarven scale mail armour and the leather boots of Radagast (all +5).

Can anybody share sharper eyes than this?

uh .. i thought Dwarven armor went up to +3.
But then again, i thought Amulets of searching went up to +6, but yesterday i found a +9.

Unpopular opinion: A reading of "The Hobbit" suggests hobbits shouldn't have infravision at all.

It's been a while since I read the Hobbit, but I'm pretty sure Bilbo can't actually see Gollum, except for his eyes during the Riddle, right?

Not that it really matters that much. Infravision isn't a thing at all in Lord of the Rings. The closest is the ability of some people (like Glorfindel, and Frodo while wearing the One Ring) to see into whatever realm the Ringwraiths mostly live in.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not sure Golium is detected by infravision in Angband.

Consider yourself corrected. Races except Human and Dunadin can see him when he is next to them.

Seems that Selkie would see Gollum up to 19 squares away while not having See Invisible, or am I wrong?
