Playing around with the new release here. I wielded some unknown bolts, which ended up being cursed arrows of backbiting. Remove curse does not seem to uncurse them, so I think they may be stuck in my quiver forever. Or perhaps I can wield a crossbow and shoot them at townsfolk?
I don't know if *Remove Curse* will do the job - this guy is still level 14 and relatively shallow. But the arrows don't identify as heavily cursed or anything. |

In variants I have been able to throw or shoot cursed ammo from the quiver with no problems. Perhaps V inherited that behavior. Try throwing it.

The whole idea that you have to 'w'ield them into the quiver is odd. Should you be able to get resistances from your ammo? You should if it is actually wielded. The quiver ought to be treated as extended backpack space.

I haven't been playing the nightlies so this may not be a new bug (if it's even a bug):
If Smeagol drains you to 0 gold, he doesn't seem to teleport away any more. Not sure if this is intended or not. |

I like d_m's idea of distinctively coloured background for the uniques. In fact, I think it would be handy for some other monsters (e.g. those not yet encountered/slain), too.

Whereas I, on the other hand, said I would slay all his descendants if a single non-black background ever appears anywhere in Angband (except for terrain). YMMV.

I suspect we'll find that changing the background color will make for an ugly game. It would also potentially cause problems for players who expect solid-color blocks to be walls (even if there's a character embedded in the block). I'd rather try changing the font style first.
...heh. Bold for unique, italic for faster-than-you, underlined for out-of-depth? ![]() |

I'm interested in z-term getting this functionality but happy to leave it other people to figure out how to best use it.
