Killing uniques...
Whenever I kill Farmer Maggot or his dogs I'm having a bad conscience (as well as when killing Bullroarer or scruffy looking hobbits)... but if I am lucky to have Farmer Maggot in the town when born it's a must to kill him, because he usually drops an item doubling the starting gold.
And when in the 30s and encountering mother dragons with her pups I also always gulp down some virtual guilt before taking care of the families... Are some of you feeling similarily? |

I was killing some filthy street urchins once, and my son said "They're just kids"

Are you kidding? The whole idea is that there will soon be an new Dark Lord in town! "Blood is compulsory. They're all blood you see."

If
you are able to steal from me and are awake or you may carry money but cannot hurt me or your last name is Maggot, you're as good as dead. |

What if you commit the terrible crime of interupting the run command?

Killing people in town also makes me sad. My first game, I avoided killing townsfolk, but they're so obnoxious. These days I kill 'em mostly so I don't have to jam the spacebar.

I guess I'm merciless. If they get in the way, or are likely to try to steal from me, they get to meet their maker. I kill all the uniques including Farmer Maggot because of all the moaning about his dogs. One game I left him alive, and was disappointed when he wasn't summoned by Morgoth.

I avoid killing townspeople, and even wait for them to walk away if I get trapped by them in variants. (I'm looking at you, Temple-opening in FrogComposband)
I just don't like hurting things that aren't outright hostile towards me. ^^' |

I take a variant on the opinion of Crowley in Good Omens
"They're in the town, they know the risks they're taking"
