I'm new to Sil (but I'm loving it!).
What happens when you open your gift early? It says something like "you have a bad feeling about this..."

It's pretty brutal... All the rolls in the game you make twice, and must take the worst result. You'll quickly notice how difficult everything becomes if you open the presents. The only thing that I know of that isn't take-the-worst-of-two, is protection rolls.

This is actually a curse in the game you can uncover in regular play, by removing all three silmarils from Morgoth's crown.

Damn, I thought it'd let me open it by now., oh well. One of the advantages of living in Australia is I think by the time I finish work today it'll let me.
