Question Question: Angband magic visual effects?

Does Angband has something like magic visual effects.. like, when you use some area magic it shows something to represent where it is actually hitting??

Well, i was just wondering because i think i saw some bluish thing showing up and desapearing really fast when my magic missile beamed... and it was exactly the area of the beam... anyway, another thing that bugged me was the changes of the 3.1.2 version "#1089 Fix magic missile's visual effect;"... that as far as I knew it hasnt had one. I download the 3.1.2v2 version and didnt saw any effect for the matter. (I tried adding movement delay, so its not that its just shows too fast to see I think)

So, anyone know if magic has some visual effects in angband or how to activate it ??

Yes, try setting the "base delay factor" option to something above zero

In case you didn't know, the option screen is brought up by pressing the = (equals) key.

Why doesn't this default to, oh, 16ms anyway? It'd make it much easier for newbies to figure out what is and isn't hit by ball effects, or what firing lines are, or why their bolt spell mysteriously hit more monsters, etc.

Btw, does angband has a way to see what time is it? or at least if its day or night. I only can know for sure when i'm town because of the light.

Shift-T does that in all the variants I've played. Has it changed in V?

I thought that was Ctrl-T, unless it's different in the roguelike keyset... and I don't think Vanilla has a day/night system, being an enclosed ecosystem like it is :P

Vanilla certainly has day/night (in town), but IIRC you can't see the time.

Day vs night in V is just the parity of (gameturns/50000), and you can see gameturns with 'C'.
