Shopkeeper issues in V3.09a
Hi
In my current game (Clvl 43, Dlvl 87), the weapon store has had Ithyl-Mak for the whole game. By this point, money isn't really an issue, but surely there should have been a storekeeper swap by now? Has anyone else come across something similar, where a shopkeeper just didn't change? Alternatively is there a way to force a shop keeper change? |

I'm pretty sure the way it works is that after X amount of turns, one of the stores (randomly decided) has a chance to change shopkeepers, so I guess it's just bad luck that the weapon shop has never been changed. I think that also there's a chance that the shopkeeper will retire if you buy out his entire stock.

If you are in the dungeon on a multiple-of-10000 turn (10000, 20000, etc.), there is a 1-in-25 chance that *one* shop-keeper will rotate. The game does make sure that it does not select your home (leaving seven others) and that the shop-keeper does change at the selected store. This means that the expected 'lifetime' of a shop-keeper is 1,750,000 turns. The probability of (still) having Ithyl-Mak at various points in the game is below: Code:
Turn No change 1000000 56.3% 2000000 31.8% 3000000 17.9% 4000000 10.1% 5000000 5.7% |

Oh jesus. I'm glad I saw this thread because I was wondering something similar. I've been watching my shops going wtf why don't they change their stuff??
Much appreciated, at least now I know I'm not losing my mind. |
