HAlp )macOS version(
I'm temporarily on mac os for the next few weeks and trying to get the game going, and the first hurdle is the graphics.
I use shockbolt tiles, and at launch i set the font size so that the stats on the left side of the screen match the size on my PC, but at that point the rest of the tiles are too small. the proportions between the stats (the thing on the left that shows HP, SP, STR, INT etc) and the map-mob-player tiles is different between my PC and this mac. i cannot find a way to tweak this. Also, when i see the map, such as the town, it does not fill the screen. its as if its displaying only a rectangle within my screen, which is smaller than it needs to be. hAlp?

in the dungeon the situation is a bit better, the map fills the screen but its still too small compared to the rest of the UI

Play the nightly version, available here. backwardsEric has put a huge effort into improving graphics support.

ok, but while that may be a solution (i guess its a 4.2 build?), is there a way to change the size of the map-to-UI ratio?
the new colour of the 4.2 tiles confuses me.

@sky -- yeah it is a nightly, but If you are building your own, you can drop in the new main-osx.c (or whatever) to upgrade your favorite version number (or even variant.)

It would be main-cocoa.m that one would drop in. There's been enough changes recently that one would have to do a bit more than that: copy over the new versions of the Mac specific stuff from src/cocoa and merge in the changes to src/Makefile.osx that are relevant. Since ui-term.c has some recent changes related to handling tiles, one should bring that over as well. |
