I just had an interesting situation where the Witch-King kept teleporting me to a Hand Druj who then kept teleporting me back to the Witch-King. They both had a good 2 or 3 goes each before I managed to teleport the Druj away.

I am reminded: you know how Thorin gives rSound/rChaos? In the old days, that meant that any character that wielded Thorin got, in addition to +4 STR/CON, immunity to being stunned or confused in addition to the elemental resists. And in fact rChaos automatically provided resistance to the confusion element, which was breathed by bronze dragons and a few other creatures. Now that was a ridiculously good artifact!

I am pretty sure that rChaos didn't grant confusion proofing in V. That is in NPP. I miss bronze dragons in any case. They were a major threat.

It used to, I'm nigh-positive of that. I definitely remember rChaos being a strict superset of rConf back in the day.

Why were Bronze dragons removed from V?

It was argued that "confusion" didn't make sense as an element any more than "blindness" would have (and no, there was no Silver Dragon breathing blindness at things). They literally breathed confusion at you.

Since they didn't do anything else notable, they got removed, as did Bronze DSM. I suppose the contrarian approach would have been to introduce Silver Dragons that breathe blindness, and Gold Dragons that breathe stunning.

(What it means for something to breathe darkness or light has not thus far been addressed, so far as I am aware)

From the 2.9.0 changelog:
•It is no longer true that "resist chaos" implies "resist confusion". However, all base objects and artifacts which provide "resist chaos" explicitly provide "resist confusion" as well.

I think it was in 3.0 when the last part was removed, and Thorin (or Chaos / Balance DSM) stopped to provide protection from confusion.

Or inertia, gravity, "pure force" (are there force hounds in V?). There are many elements that are odd.
