Party-focused *band
As someone who has played V Angband since frog-knows I have also been playing Dwarf Fortress recently.
But it seems to me that it's adventure mode - where you play a lead dwarf with a bunch of hangers-on - is a bit too removed from a roguelike. Are there any single player, mulit-@ *bands around? AFAIK TOME is either single-@ or one-@ per real player. |

There was a game called Guild which I believe was based on Angband and let you control up to 4 characters - not sure where to find it; it used to be at www.guildgame.com but that site's down now

Tangband was an abortive attempt, but the game ended the instant *any* of the four player-controlled @-signs died.

On a slight tangent, there's always the option of play a Summoner in ToME, or alternatively, just accept FF requests to join you and picking up an NPC posse that way... |
