Favourite *band variant

What's everybody's favourite Angband variant? (I may use the results in a project of mine )

Feel free to choose more than one.

Other than Vanilla? (That'd be my #1.)

At the moment, Ironband is my favorite. Historically, it's been a tie b/w NPP and Heng.

You can choose Vanilla. It just felt silly to ask "favourite Angband variant or non-variant".

FA's probably my favorite (edges out Steam, because of it's great graphic support), though I'm currently infatuated with Steam, mainly because of it's difficulty and unconventional enemies and items, despite it's lack of graphics. Z+ plus would probably be my #3 choice because of the quests and random uniques. Not a huge fan of Vanilla, though I've nothing bad to say about it, I just never really played it much.

I'd like to be arcane and say Kamband or GSN2band, but actually I've not tried any of the ancient variants.

Sang, definitely. Other variants I've enjoyed are O and NPP. The one I've not yet played but think I might really quite like is FA.

That is arcane. I had them both on the "bet nobody's playing them" list.

It can be tricky getting them playable - at least on Windows.

For now it is Tiny, it is keeping me away from Hellband dev.

* No Hounds
* No multiplying fiends
* Less dungeon levels
* Valar Patrons ( I think ), very nice
* No TMJ for me
* Magic redone in a nice way
* Feels like toned down Z
* Town Services
* Sane Squelch
* No silly monsters or too many humans ( yeeks, warriors, thieves, palladins)
* Really scary Dragons and Ringwraiths, no dragon for each element
* Surprise ( only 10th character saw a dungeon tow after many hours of play), nothing special there but a nice surprise
* LOTS of *ID*
etc.

I've got a soft spot for TinyAngband myself. I think the developer has been busy elsewhere for a while now, but I'm looking forward to developments when he's back.

I have to say I've become a big fan of Tiny as well, chiefly for these two reasons:

Which are also features of Ironband (although the second is handled in a very different way).

I'm rather a newbie in Angband, however I play it for about 10 years.

As for me, I prefer Z+Angband and Vanilla
